Requirements for Application Qualification

Limit of Age and Educational Experience:
- Candidates for Bachelor’s Degree: Under 25 years of age candidates must have a diploma of high school or equivalent.
- Candidates for Master’s Degree: Candidates must have a degree of learner equivalent to a degree of bachelor from a Chinese university and must not be more than 35 years old.
- Candidates for PhD Degree: Candidates must possess a degree from a Master’s program equivalent to a Chinese Master’s and must not be more than forty years old.
Requirements for Language:
- Programs taught in China: With at least a score of 180 level of HSK is 4.
- Programs taught in English: The score of IELTS is 6.5 or a score of TOEFL is 90.
Scholarship Eligibility: Candidates must not be concurrent receivers of any other kind of scholarship of the Chinese Government.
Funding for Scholarship

Process for Application
Online Application for Chinese Government Scholarship:
- Appointment to the Chinese Government Scholarship Management Information System.
- By using the Agency Code 10559 of the University of Jinan select “Category B”.

Online Application for the University of Jinan:
- Candidates of Learner: Complete the application, upload all required documents log into The University of Jinan and the University of Huaqiao Joint Admissions System.
- Candidates of Graduate: Submit all necessary documents online by accessing the University of Jinan Graduate Admissions System, and filling out the Silk Road scholarship application form.
Interview and Criterion Assessment: Applicants who pass the initial screening at the University of Jinan will review the submitted documents and manner a telephone or remote interview. Confirm that all connection information provided is precise and consistent.
Scholarship Appointment and Last Review: For the last support successful applicants will be selected for the “Silk Road” Scholarship and promoted to the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
Declaration of Scholarship Results: Through the website of the China Scholarship Council the results will be available. The University of Jinan will also inform the selected students.
